FULL HOW‑TO / SETTINGS / WINDING / OPERATION

Winding

  • Hand‑wind: Rotate crown clockwise 20–30 turns.

  • Automatic winding: Normal wrist movement keeps the rotor spinning.

  • Do not overwind: The movement has a slipping clutch — safe to wind daily.
     

Setting the Time

  1. Pull crown to position 2 (furthest out).

  2. Seconds hand stops (hack).

  3. Rotate crown to set hour/minute hands.

  4. Push crown back in to start the movement.
     

Setting the Date (NH35 / NH36 / NH34 / NH72 w/date)

  1. Pull crown to position 1.

  2. Rotate clockwise to change date.

  3. Avoid setting between 9 PM and 3 AM — date gears are engaged.
     

Setting the Day (NH36 only)

  • In position 1, rotate crown counter‑clockwise to change the day.
     

Setting the GMT Hand (NH34 only)

  1. Pull crown to position 1.

  2. Rotate to adjust the 24‑hour GMT hand independently.

  3. Use main hands for local time, GMT hand for second timezone.
     

Starting the Movement

  • Shake gently or wind 10–15 turns.

  • Movement begins immediately once the balance wheel oscillates.

Battery

  • Low battery symptoms:

    • Seconds hand jumps in 2‑second intervals

    • Chronograph may stop responding

Setting the Time

  1. Pull crown to position 2 (furthest out).

  2. Rotate crown to set hour/minute hands.

  3. Push crown back in to resume normal operation.

Setting the Date (VK63 only)

  1. Pull crown to position 1.

  2. Rotate crown to change the date.

  3. Avoid setting between 9 PM and 3 AM to protect the date mechanism.
     

Chronograph Operation (All VK movements)
Start:

  • Press top pusher — central chrono seconds hand begins sweeping.

Stop:

  • Press top pusher again.

Reset:

  • Pull crown to position 2 (time‑setting position).

  • Press top pusher — all chrono hands snap back to zero.

    • This is the signature “meca‑quartz mechanical reset.”

Notes:

  • Reset only works when crown is pulled out.

  • Chronograph minutes advance mechanically, not digitally.
     

Subdial Behavior

  • VK63:

    • Left subdial = chrono minutes

    • Right subdial = 24‑hour indicator

  • VK64:

    • Left subdial = chrono minutes

    • Right subdial = moonphase or AM/PM

  • VK67:

    • Left subdial = running seconds

    • Right subdial = chrono minutes

Accuracy Notes

  • Quartz timekeeping: ±20 sec/month

  • Chronograph sweep: Mechanical feel, not true automatic smoothness

  • Reset: Instant mechanical snap‑back
